RMX is delighted to have Brandon Harris return for a second summer to intern with us. His internship was made possible by the Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). The EERE Robotics Internship Program is administered by Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) through the Oak Ridge Institute for Science Education (ORISE).
Brandon, a recent graduate of Lehigh University, will be working with RMX President, Dr. Truman Bonds, on plasma applications as well as a project with William Wallace on Close-Proximity Electromagnetic Carbonization research. When asked about working with Brandon and other interns, William said “Learning from, being challenged by, and mentoring young engineers and scientists to grow and mature is a core value here at RMX. The ability to see Brandon continue to apply his knowledge, and grow personally over time, has been a rewarding part of my job.”
When asked what he hopes to take away from this summer’s program, Brandon replied “I would like to apply my Electrical Engineering knowledge toward the development of new technologies related to carbon fiber production.”
